It's binary
Zen Yoga is the journey of smoothing out one's edges in calming the internal waters. When something goes up, it must come down. These are the binary laws of motion in which we dwell - known as yin and yang.
When starting the Zen Yoga process, a great starting point is to manage yin and yang's extremes. When we have highs, there are usually equal lows that create waves in our internal tranquil waters. Zen Yoga aids us in reducing the swing between the yin and yang of life by encouraging us to move closer to the center point where there are steadiness and clarity.
In starting the process of moving from the periphery to the center, it is useful to study the binary system of yin and yang by contemplating opposites in the world around us - not in a judging sort of way, but instead, in a way that is like a curious child seeking to gain insight. As a practice in observation, take some time today to note as many sets of opposites you can. Make this a meditation of sorts. Try not to label each opposite as good or bad. Instead, challenge yourself to see how many you can find. If you want to take it a step further, google yin and yang to know if you can figure out which one is yin and which is yang.
Here's to a smooth path...
